Clarks Womens SUNBEAT Sandals Review
Someone told me that she found a pair of shoes at Amazon.com that she had been unable to locate anywhere else. I figured I would also try to find my favorite sandals the Clarks Womens Sunbeat slingback sandal in Tan. I have been looking for them all summer at different online retailers with no luck. I was so happy when I found them on Amazon and received them in a timely fashion. I will go to Amazon first next time I am looking for something special.Sally DownieClarks Sunbeat sandals are fabulous! As a teacher I am on my feet all day. I can wear these sandals in comfort all day and still make it through the evening! I have them in all colors and I wear them through the fall and again as soon as spring arrives. the back strap does not allow your heel to sit back in the shoe where it is supposed to sit. So your heel is forward by about an inch making your toes push over the edge even though you have the right size. Paid for delivery in 3-5 days as I was leaving on vacation in 5 days---but the 3-5 day count was from date of shipment not date of order so had to go on vacation without them. I have these exact sandals from 3-4 years ago and they are now wearing out so wanted to replace them since I like them so much. I saw from other reviews that some people complained that they are now made in China. I checked my old pair and they were made in China as well so that did not concern me. When I received them although they were cut identically the material for the upper did not seem to be the same. I initially thought they were a thinner cut of leather but on closer inspection I saw the tight woven pattern inside so realized they are not leather uppers at all. They are clearly stamped Made in China and leather upper. I accept that in order to compete on price Clarks now needs to manufacture in China; however advertising as leather upper for a synthetic material is a new low. The cut is identical to the older pair but with the synthetic material upper there is no give to the cut at the toe edge unlike a leather pair.I sent these back on principle today - I will not support a manufacturer who lies about the materials on the products. Clarks needs to either go back to a leather product or advertise these as the synthetic uppers that they are. Although Clarks has been a favorite of mine for more than 30 years I will not be buying shoes from them in the future unless they correct this issue. The Clarks Sandals that I recently purchased on Amazon.Com are the best! Thestyle is one that I have purchased many times and was thrilled to get exactly whatI was looking for. Had searched several retail stores only to be told that my size and color were not available.I ordered the sandals on Weds. evening andthey were delivered to my door on Friday!I wear them with a big smile on my face andI know that my feet are smiling too!!!
