They run 1/3 size small which makes it that they fit snug on the foot so you can walk without crunching your toes with every step to keep the shoe on (you ladies know what i mean im sure). All parts are soft and smooth and there is nothing to hurt. The only problem i found is with the black ones after wearing them for just an hour the black dye rubs off onto my skin just between my toes where the black touches (the rest of the leather has beige on the bottom so the black does not touch the skin anywhere else). To fix it i waterproofed them to stabilize the dye and that did the trick. But the shoes are great and one of the the best buys on shoes ive ever made. In my experience it is very difficult to find shoes or sandals which are both attractive and comfortable. I got these in the gold which is more like a muted brushed gold color. It is very pretty and not too shiny. There is good cushioning and some arch support enough that I can wear these sandals for a few hours if there is minimal walking required. The platform is stable I never felt that my ankle would turn when I wore these. The only problem I had was with the toe post as it was rubbing between my toes. I didnt get blisters because I didnt have to do much walking. The size 9 was the right size to pick even though I usually wear an 8 1/2 in sandals and that is my usual size in Clarks sandals also.
