I have wide flat feet. As a woman this means that I am often restricted to wearing mens shoes ugly shoes or uncomfortable shoes. These shoes are neither manly ugly nor uncomfortable!Wearing shoes without proper support for most of my life I have developed hip problems that can cause me extreme pain to the point where I have trouble walking in the evenings. Thus far the only shoes I have found that alleviate my pain are Chaco sandals which are on the American Medical Podiatric Associations list of accepted footwear. I recently started looking for a supportive closed-toe shoe to wear during the fall and winter months. The Clarks Wave shoes are also accepted by the American Podiatric Medical Association so I ordered these hoping that they would provide the same level of support as my Chaco sandals. I have worn these shoes for the past two days with NO PAIN. I am ecstatic and have since ordered another pair of Clarks Wave shoes.I normally wear a 9.5W which is what I ordered in these shoes. They are a bit large I probably could have gone down to a 9W and still been good. The only negative point that I see with these shoes is that the straps are very short so they do not provide much ability to adjust the fit. These shoes really deliver. They run true to size are extremely comfortable and look as good as they feel. I am 100% satisfied. I love Clark shoes and these are up to their usual standards. I wear them as a docent in a botanical garden where I am on my feet for 3 to 4 hours. my feet never get tired or achy. I also wear them for outdoor trips where i have to do a lot of walking. I have had them for bout 8 months and they do not show wear at all. The color I got is a sandy beige and they have not shown dirt either. I plan to get another pair in a different color soon. I have a problem with heel pain (pf) and have been looking for some good walking shoes that will look okay with shorts capris or long pants. We are planning an extensive walking tour of the northeast this summer and I know it will be hard to keep up with 3 teenage boys and my healthy long legged husband treking through NYC and Boston. I just bought this fabulous sandal/sneaker and am delighted. The contruction on the sole makes them rock forward as you walk and sort of propel you forward. Also since I have one foot slightly longer and wider than the other the velcro straps allow me to adjust the width of each shoe so that the fit is perfectly snug for each foot. They are pricey for a summer shoe but after paying $50 several times over for various sandals and sneakers that aggravate my heel pain and hence are in their boxes in my closet the cost will be well worth it. I can look forward top our vacation without fear and dread now. Hurray!
