So Id been drooling over some sandals from another brand for a while because I wanted something comfortable to wear on a trip to Europe this summer. They needed to be something that would be comfortable to wear on a full day of walking around European city streets. However as I shoped around I found these Clarks Keating sandals and decided to give them a try instead. Boy am I glad I did.My feet are large (size 13 US) and I found the sandals to be fairly well sized although they are actually slightly long. Not a problem as Id rather have more room than I need than too little. The straps over the bridge of the foot and around the front of the ankle are adjustable by velcro to give a custom feeling fit.For me the strap around the ankle is slightly loose when the strap is pulled through to the end of the loop side of the velcro. By the way they are made you kind of get the impression that this is as far as they expect you to pull the straps so I tend to wear mine slightly loose. It hasnt caused any issue so far and I havent felt any chafing to speak of which gives me confidence that theyll handle the streets of Europe just fine. The foot bed is cushy and has a suede like texture which tends to collect little bits of grass and fuzz but otherwise seems to be wearing well so far. The cushion is nice on the bottom of my feet and the more I wear them the more it seems to conform to the contours of my foot. Very comfortable indeed.Im looking forward to my trip and am completely confident that my Clarks will get me through with no issues. Im glad I bought my pair and would recommend them to anyone. I am 63 years old and have never worn sandals before other than as an alternative to house slippers. I have a very high instep and top of foot normally wearing a 3E shoe to accommodate this extra height. In the hot Carolina Summers I was looking for something cooler than walking shoes so I started looking at sandals. Several things you come across early on: most only come in D or Medium width many are nothing more than unlined leather many have rubber footbeds that make for a sweaty and slippery experience in 100 degree days and few know which way to install velcro.I had purchased a pair of Dunham (New Balance) online from DSW thinking they would work as they had adjustable front ankle and back straps. But when they arrived I was vastly disappointed as the only strap that would reasonably fit was the back strap. The front and ankle straps left over an inch of velcro hooks exposed to snag on whatever might brush across them. Also the decorations in the middle and end on each strap were all very much off misaligned. So I went to the local DSW to return them thinking I would not find anything to replace them. But much to my surprise the store had a pair of the Clarks Keating sandals. Though they are a Medium they fit very well. I have had them for a week now with at least 4 full days of wear. The strapping are all covered with a Lycra fabric making sure there is little opportunity for chafing. The velcro is positioned on the sandals so that any exposed parts (after accommodating the wide/high foot) are the smooth non-catching part and the 2 adjustable straps are generously sized to easily and comfortably fit my foot. The footbed is a soft self-contouring suede-like fabric that is extremely comfortable though I have not yet done any distance walking in the sandals to see how they respond with heavy moisture.I am very pleased with this purchase and for a price under $70.

Wonderful product and well worth the price. Well made, detailed and sturdy. We live in a very rural area of Hawaii on old lava fields; other sandals literally get chewed up on the rocks, not this pair! Perfect, comfortable, wears well. Thanks!
