The zipper is not smooth.The black was only available in patent leather. So I chose the gunsmoke (khaki color) which looked good as pictured.Too bad Clarks doesnt seem to make quality comfort shoes any more. This is a very well made shoe. I bought the black patent ones and they are even better than I expected! This is a very well made shoe. I bought the black patent ones and they are even better than I expected! This is a sturdy, comfortable cute shoe that I can wear with jeans or dress pants.It's a great alternative to sneakeres which is what I usually wear for shopping or out for coffeee because I really value comfort but I was tired of the dumpy look sneakers present.
